Welcome to Wolcott Land Owners Protective Association (WLOPA)

WLOPA is a private shooting club nestled in 54 acres of beautiful Wolcott, CT.  We offer organized and informal trap and skeet shooting, pistol and rifle shooting, air rifle shooting, and hunting.  We conduct onsite pistol permit training courses, personalized handgun and rifle training, and we host several charitable community events.  We are located at 920 Woodtick Road, Wolcott, CT  06716, telephone number is:  203-879-9976.

The next monthly meeting is Friday, January 6th, 2017 at 7pm at the club.  There is no meeting in December.

We're collecting Toys for Tots in the clubhouse this Christmas season.  There is a collection bin in the bar for unwrapped toys.

Our Christmas Party is Saturday night December 10th, starting with cocktail hour at 6pm, dinner at 7pm.  There is no cost for members, but spouses cost $25.  Tickets can be purchased at the bar.

The following day is our Handicap Christmas Party, December 11th, starting at noon.  Santa will fly in to give joy to the special needs guests.

Past WLOPA events:

A new Plate Shooting Program started this year featuring .22lr pistol/revolver at the plate shooting range located to the left of the pistol range.  They held 3 events, with the last one very well attended.  Contact Matt Mildrum for info:  luv2flyfish@sbcglobal.net.

Ladies Day - We held another "Ladies Day" shoot on Sept. 17th, as part of our community outreach education events.  It was well attended and all the ladies who participated had the opportunity to learn gun safety and shoot pistol, rifle, and trap.  Thanks to Greg Gubitosi who ran this program.

Annual Fundraiser - Breast Cancer / WLOPA Relief Fund
On August 6, 2016, we held a fundraiser dinner to raise money for Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and the WLOPA Local Relief Fund.  Many people and many companies donated.  Approximately 125 people attended - - a great turnout.  The food was prepared by members, and many people volunteered to make this event a great success.  Thanks to Frank Noble for coordinating everything.

Hall Renovation - We finished the hall and bathroom renovation in August.

The Annual NRA Dinner was held on March 18, 2016 at the Aqua Turf in Plantsville. WLOPA had three tables of supporters.

We held our Christmas Party on Dec. 4th and it was very well attended and all had a good time enjoying friendships and great food.  Thanks to all who helped with the Christmas Party and also the Handicap Christmas Party the following week, Sat. Dec. 12th.  Santa was there and entertained everyone.  A special thank you to Spartan II Restaurant in Plantsville who donated their time and food for the Party.  All the children and their family enjoyed the day.  Also, thanks to the many who volunteered their time to make this day fun for all.
