Breast Cancer Charity Fundraiser Event - August 26, 2017

2nd Annual Breast Cancer Dinner / Emergency Relief Fund

WLOPA is holding its 2nd Annual Breast Cancer Dinner / Emergency Relief Fund on August 26, 2017 from 5-8pm.  Last year WLOPA decided to have a dinner instead of a Breast Cancer Trap/Pistol Shoot.  The event was so successful that we decided to do it again.

Attendees last year enjoyed a great dinner prepared by WLOPA members. Businesses and WLOPA members donated an assortment of raffle prizes. As a result of 150 dinner-ticket and raffle-ticket sales, the event raised more than $7,000. For the past seven years, WLOPA has been raising money for this cause and to date has raised more than $69,000 for breast cancer and the WLOPA Relief Fund.  The WLOPA membership would like to thank the people who came out in support of this event and the following contributors of raffle prizes: O.F. Mossberg & Sons, of North Haven; Times Microwave, Wallingford; Noble High Performance, Wolcott; Pat’s IGA, Wolcott; Animal House, Wolcott; Commission Brokers, Cranston, R.I.; Prospect Printing, Prospect; NAPA Auto Parts, Waterbury; Walsh’s Market, Wolcott; Silkscreen Plus, Wolcott; Kulmann’s Automotive, Wolcott; Can-It LLC, Wolcott; Dental Health Associates, Wolcott; Cisos Cleaning Service, Wallingford; Wolcott Lanes, Wolcott; Auto Spa Car Wash, Waterbury; Advance Auto Parts, Waterbury; AutoZone, Waterbury; Oliver’s Market, Prospect; Land N’ Sea, Waterbury; Multi Cable Corp., Bristol; Always Tan, Wolcott; Denise Whelan, Wolcott; Tony’s Diner, Wolcott; McBride’s Restaurant & Apizza, Wolcott; Stop & Shop, Waterbury; Zuppa’s Restaurant, Wolcott; Wolcott VFW, Wolcott; Global Manufacturing Solutions, Wolcott; Raymond’s Building Supply, Wolcott; Blackstone Irish Pub, Milldale; and Hop Haus Craft Beer, Plantsville. In addition to shooting, there will be a silent auction with items donated by local businesses. Mossberg Firearms has donated a .308-caliber rifle.

Each year, half of the money raised goes toward sponsoring a team of women who participate in the Avon Walk for Breast Cancer led by Margaret Vagnini of Middlebury.

The other half goes into the club's emergency relief fund to help someone in need.
